Medical Illustration Podcast - Anthony Baker interview

Anthony Baker is a Board-Certified medical illustrator in Columbus, Ohio. Since 2008, he has directed The Ohio State University’s Medical Visuals team, creating visuals for Ohio State health sciences faculty, physicians and researchers. Before joining OSU, he illustrated for the University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery, Mayfield Clinic, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He has created illustrations for various medical textbooks including the Atlas of Operative Microneurosurgery, Volume 2 (Tew and van Loveren), which won an AMI illustrated book award, and the Zollinger Atlas of Surgical Operations, 11th edition.


Anthony graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design with a BFA in illustration (1986). He earned his medical illustration degree from The Ohio State University (1991).


Anthony is an active, professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators and a member of the European Association of Medical and Scientific Illustrators (AEIMS). At the 2021 AMI virtual meeting, Anthony gave presentations about robotic surgery and his involvement with the Zollinger Atlas. He has worked on various AMI committees and served as an annual meeting salon judge. Hope you enjoy this interview with Anthony Baker!
